The Fall–Winter 2025 semester of the Academy of the Third Age (ATA) is set to launch with a program centered on the theme “Psyche and Soma in the Cultures and Religions of the World.”
This interdisciplinary series will include lectures, workshops, and cultural events that explore the relationship between body and soul across diverse traditions, integrating biblical, theological, psychological, and cultural perspectives.
Above all, the new semester emphasizes why questions of body and spirit are relevant not only to Christian and biblical traditions, but also to many world religions. At the same time, it shows why these themes remain especially meaningful in today’s increasingly secular society. Participants will engage with subjects ranging from logotherapy and the theology of the body to the role of animals in biblical creation, as well as the continuing relevance of practices such as yoga. Furthermore, the program also features therapeutic craft workshops and film screenings designed to foster well-being, creativity, and dialogue.
Since its establishment in 2009, the Academy of the Third Age has developed into a ministry that provides older men and women in Wroclaw with knowledge, fellowship, and spiritual support. For many years this initiative has been made possible thanks to the ongoing support of the City of Wroclaw. Consequently, all sessions remain free of charge and open to everyone, without the need for prior registration. With this partnership in place, the Academy continues to serve as a place where seniors can reflect on their beliefs, stay intellectually and spiritually engaged, and contribute meaningfully to the life of the church and wider society.
