EWST introduces an AI Code of Ethics

Ewangelical School of Theology in Wrocław has adopted a Code of Ethics for the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This decision reflects our commitment to academic integrity, responsible innovation, and the continuous development of our institution.

The Code gives faculty and students clear guidance on how to leverage AI to facilitate learning, research, and teaching. It emphasizes that AI is to augment critical thought and imagination and never to replace them. The document per se is an opening to a wider discussion about ethical research and education when emerging technology is at issue.

This holistically integrated approach is yet groundbreaking in studies of divinity. By publishing the Code, EWST offers guidelines for responsible AI application and shows continuity and innovation are possible side by side.

The Code was consolidated by the ordinance of the Rector and integrated with our research procedures for final papers and thesis writing. This offers consistency at all research and study levels at EWST.

In this step, we further cultivate an open learning environment open to new instruments but based upon responsibility, transparency, and integrity.
